Tina Drole
Mezzo-soprano
Slovenian Mezzo-soprano Tina Drole is a member of the opera studio Cologne from the season 2023/24. In the following season she will sing roles such as 3. Magd (Elektra), Mercédès (Carmen), Nireno (Giuglio Cesare). In 2023 she performed as Ursuline at the Bayerische Staatsoper in the New Production of Die Teufel von Loudun (Krzysztof Penderecki) under the batton of Vladimir Yurowksi and as Mercédès in Carmen (G. Bizet) at the Open Air Festival Oper Burg Gars. During her studies she gained her experience as Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), Annio and Sesto (La clemenza di Tito), Dritte Dame (Die Zauberflöte), Die Hexe (Der Trommler) and Tolomeo (Giulio Cesare).
Besides opera she found her passion for Lied and concert singing. In the past season she regularly appeared as a recital and concert singer, among others at the Music Festival ‘Höri Musiktage’, with Symphony Orchestra Münster and Orchestra Cantabile Slovenia.
Tina Drole is a prize winner of many national and international voice competitions. She was a finalist of Brahms Competition 2021 and was awarded special prize for the best interpretation of a modern compulsory piece. 2019 she won the 3rd Prize in the discipline Lied at the 5th International Music Competition Triomphe de l’Art in Belgium.
Since October 2021 she is studying Lied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München, under the guidance of Prof. Christian Gerhaher and Prof. Gerold Huber. She graduated her Bachelor of Arts in voice at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, and her Master of Arts at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.
She participated in several masterclasses of Brigitte Fassbaender, Helmut Deutsch, Margreet Honig and Edith Wiens. Furthermore she was loureat of the Udo Reinemann International Masterclasses 2019/20 and was allowed to study and work with renovated singers and pianists such as Christine Schäfer, Christianne Stotijn, Urszula Kryger, Malcolm Martineu, David Kuyken and Thomas Oliemans.
